2ND LT RAMAN – ASHOK CHAKRA AWARDEE
2nd Lt Polur Muthuswamy Raman was in 3rd Battalion The Sikh Light Infantry. He was posted in Nagaland. In 1956, his company attacked and cleareda hostile stronghold in the Chephema village of Kohima district in Naga land. 2nd Lt Ramanhad not yet turned 22 but his gallant action, courage, leadership and selfless devotion earned him Ashok Chakra Posthumously.
During an attack gone awry, as casualities mounted, a heavy mist descended on the battleground, worsening the situation.
2nd Lt. Raman realized that he had been seperated from his troops. Now he had to find his way through zero visibility as danger lurked all around...
